To qualify for a Funeral Grant, the insured person must have paid 26 weeks of contributions (6 months). A Funeral Grant assists with the expenses of: – An insured person – The wife or husband of an insured person or – A dependant child of an insured person (a dependant child is a child under the age of 15 years and if in full-time education, under the age of 21).
To qualify for an Age Pension, you should be 65 years and must have contributed at least 500 weekly contributions. (10 years)
Registration involves filling out the Employee’s Registration Form that is available on the Downloadable Forms section. The form must be submitted with a birth certificate or passport.
Maternity Allowance is payable for the benefit period of up to 13 weeks, providing the woman did not return to work

Once employed, all persons between the ages of 15 and 65 should be registered with the Board.
No contributions are to be deducted from your salary if you continue to work after age 65. However, your employer must contribute 1/2% of your insurable earnings, as coverage for employment injury.
Submit a claim for Funeral Grant along with a death certificate, receipts for the amount of the funeral expenses and a detailed undertaker
If you are sick for a period that is longer than 6 months, you qualify with us for Invalidity Benefit.
There is no need to re-register each time you change jobs or did not work for a period of time. You will continue to use your same social security number.
If you do not quality for an Age pension, you may qualify for an Age grant. To qualify for an Age grant you must be 65 years and have contributed at least 50 contributions but less than 500 contributions.
If you change your name due to marriage or other reasons, you should notify the office and provide evidence of change (marriage certificate, affidavit, etc.)
Sickness benefit is paid for a maximum period of 26 weeks providing the illness continues.
Sickness benefit should be claimed within 30 days from the day on which the incapacity for work commenced.
Claim for Maternity benefit should be made no earlier than 6 weeks before the date of expected confinement but no later than 4 weeks after the confinement date.
